HOW TO GET MORE FPS ON VALORANT?

When a player has a low FPS while trying to play Valorant, it can be frustrating.  Even if the game has been optimized for low-end PCs, not everyone has this.  Players want the best possible FPS in games like Valorant.

So how can we increase FPS Valorant to make it a better gaming experience?

Valorant FPS Tweaks

The first thing to try is to tweak the in-game settings.  Even Riot Games can have Valoran’s setup limit FPS with the wrong program settings.  So how do we fix this?

First, open the game settings in Valorant and select the Video tab that appears above it.  From there, access the General tab of the game settings and make sure its display mode is in Fullscreen mode.

Set a lower resolution for your in-game settings, making sure the Aspect Ratio method is set to fill too.  This particular display mode, along with the lower resolution should improve the FPS in Valorant.  This only applies if you don’t limit the FPS.

Once you’ve done this, select the in-game settings Graphics Quality tab.  This will show you a bunch of in-game settings such as Material Quality, Texture Quality, V Sync, etc.  If you want the best FPS settings to improve your Valorant game settings, check out the suggestions listed below;

  • Material Quality – LOW
  • Texture Quality – LOW
  • Detail Quality – LOW
  • UI Quality -LOW
  • Vignette – OFF
  • V Sync – OFF
  • Anti-Aliasing – NONE
  • Anisotropic Filtering – 1x
  • Improve Clarity – OFF
  • Experimental Sharpening – OFF
  • Bloom – OFF
  • Distortion – OFF
  • Cast Shadows – OFF

Granted, these changes will improve the Valorant FPS but will do so at the cost of good visual quality.  If you’d rather push the FPS limits to reach Radiant, then there are other ways to go about improving FPS in Valorant.

Tweaking Windows PC Performance Settings

It’s not unusual for Windows PC to have some performance issues with specific settings lowering the FPS in games like Valorant.  What can be done to change these performance settings can be done in this manner;

  1. Search for This PC on your Desktop.
  2. Right-click This PC and select Properties.
  3. Click on Advanced system settings that are located on the right.
  4. Select Settings under Performance.
  5. Click on the option, Adjust for best performance.
  6. Click on Apply, then on OK.

These tweaks will make the graphics on your Windows PC less attractive but they will improve Valorant’s FPS.

Game Mode Setting Tweaks

For high-end PCs, the option of tweaking game mode settings won’t really change Valorant’s FPS performance much.  In order to enable these settings, search for Game Mode settings in the Search Bar before selecting the first option and choose “turn Game Mode ON.”

According to some players, when this option is turned off it gives them more FPS on Valorant.  On the left, there may be the option to disable the Xbox Game Bar.  Doing so should give you more XP, as well as a better FPS while playing Valorant.

PC Power Tweaks

From the search bar, access the Control Panel.  From there, open the first option and make sure View by above is set to Category.  From there, this is what you do;

  • Select System and Security
  • Find the Power Options and open it
  • Click on the arrow on the right at Show additional plans
  • Locate High-Performance Power Plan and turn it on.

If the High Settings power mode isn’t available, go to the search bar and input Command Prompt.  Then, right-click it and run it as Administrator.  From there, type in the following command; “Powercft /s SCHEME_MIN”

Press Enter, then open the options mentioned in the previous steps.  This method should maximize the PC’s performance level, as well as lower FPS in Valorant.

Do You Have NVIDIA?

This tweak is for NVIDIA GPU users only.  The trick here is to change the NVIDIA Control Panel settings for max FPS.  This directly changes as a graphics setting.

What you need to do is first right-click on your desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.  Click on Adjust image settings with preview and set it to Use the advanced 3D image settings.  Make sure you click on Apply.

Update Graphics Card Drivers

Among the most common FPS issues are related to graphics card drivers as this always seems to be an afterthought among players.  Updating your graphics card will go a long way to improve the FPS on Valorant.

What you need to do is go to Control Panel and open up its app.  Make sure the View by option above is set to Category.  From there, choose Device manager above it and find the Display adapters option.  Double click on that before right-clicking the graphics card you’re using and selecting Update.  From there, go with the Search automatically for drivers option and go through all the steps it lists.  You can also update your graphics card drivers from the official website belonging to the manufacturer.

Is it NVIDIA?

Is it AMD?

Is it Intel Graphics?

Set Valorant to High Priority

Setting Valorant to high priority also increases the FPS.  You can do this from the Task Manager option after you’ve done the Ctrl+Alt+Delete commands in unison to pop it open.  Click on the Details tab, then locate VALORANT.exe and VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe in the Windows Task Manager.  Once you’ve found them, right-click on them and set them to High Priority.

Conclusion

The procedures mentioned how to boost Valorant FPS usually don’t experience any issues when it comes to accomplishing this task.  Should there be problems continuing, odds are the PC itself has performance issues you’ll need to look into.  The methods mentioned are among the most common and effective for Valorant, as well as most other Riot Games products, including LoL.
